New iPhone 4S / 5 tipped for September launch (again)

New iPhone 4S / 5 tipped for September launch (again)

While there's still confusion regarding the name of Apple's fifth-generation iPhone (will it be iPhone 5. iPhone 4S. Something else?), here's new pseudo-evidence that the smartphone will be introduced pretty soon. Bloomberg has it that "people familiar with the plans" say the new iPhone will arrive in September. We've certainly heard about this before, as well as about the features of Apple's next-gen handset, which should include a dual-core A5 processor, and an 8MP camera.

Design-wise, it's said that the new iPhone will "closely resemble" the iPhone 4 (pictured below).

The Pentax Q is not even out yet, but that doesn't mean there is no room for rumors surrounding the shooter. In fact, specifications for the interchangeable lens digital camera have already leaked out, and from what we can tell, this is the model with the smallest and lightest body in the world in its class. First of all, there is the Q-Mount Lens System that offers convenient interchangeability with a range of specialty Q lenses, where you can opt from prime, zoom, and fisheye lenses amongst others.

Fretlight guitars teach users how to make play music

The ability to play an musical instrument without having to sit through a single lesson is probably something every human wants to be able to do but unfortunately, unless you're a musical prodigy of some sort, it's not going to happen. While we all harbor dreams of being able to do such a thing, the folks over at Fretlight Guitar are putting their minds together to come up with a solution.

Memory cards are dime a dozen, so why not attempt something different than with the USB Mixtape Memory Card. This is one of the more interesting peripherals out there that take the road less traveled, where it will also help those who grew up during the 1990s reminisce about the good ol' days. After all, back then, the mixtape was a pop culture, and proved to be the tool that can be used to share compiled music with your friends and mates. The actual sharing experience is no longer there with the advent of MP3 file formats and super fast Internet connections, so why not purchase the USB Mixtape Memory Card to relive the past.

Tamawa has just introduced a new mini flash drive that's made out of Bakelite - the same material that is used to make billiard balls. When closed and not in use, the flash drive looks like two billiard balls fused together. Users can choose from seven different colors for each half of the ball to come up with their own color combinations for the thumb drive. The drive stores 8GB (not much I know, but it should be enough for most of your necessary documents/files that need transporting.
Although the flash drive isn't exactly the largest drive around, it costs a whopping $124.

The Case-mate iPhone Case Costs $300; Why?

The Case-mate iPhone Case Costs $300; Why?

Is the recession not affecting you and have $300 to spend on an iPhone 4 case. Then Case-mate is for you. But wait, why does it cost that much. Apparently, using titanium as the main material could be costly, even for an iPhone 4 case. That metal is known for its strength, light weight, and anti-corrosive features. I should know; I have a titanium frying pan that also doubles as a wok. That thing has been with us for almost 10 years now.

But then again, for an iPhone 4 case, I think you could be better off with the aircraft aluminum-made Vapor, which is way cheaper.

Hitachi Wireless Hard Drive Streams Media Direct to Phones, Tablets

Hitachi Wireless Hard Drive Streams Media Direct to Phones, Tablets

Hitachi's G-Connect is another network hard drive that can be accessed by your iOS device, or from any mobile device with a web browser. The 500GB G-Connect has an 802.11n radio to allow you to connect to it from either an iOS app (to be released in the fall), or just direct through the browser. Better, the drive also has an Ethernet connection, meaning you can hook it up to your current router and put it on your home network. This should solve one big problem of standalone Wi-Fi drives: that you have to disconnect from your home Wi-Fi, and therefore the internet, to use them.

The G-Connect will be available in July for $200.
